Universal Pictures and Imagine Films Entertainment announced a “long-term multiple picture arrangement” whereby Universal will distribute three to five films a year produced by Imagine. In addition, according to a press release, the agreement “contemplates the possibility” that Universal “may acquire” as much as a 20% stake in Imagine. Imagine Films is a publicly traded company based in Los Angeles whose co-chairman is Ron Howard.
