Plane Being Towed Hits Empty Jetliner at LAX
A Pacific Southwest Airlines plane, apparently being towed, collided Thursday night with an unoccupied Eastern Airlines L-1011 that was parked away from a runway at Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles fire officials reported.
There were no passengers on the PSA BAC-146 turbo jet. Authorities said a mechanic who was in the PSA plane said the mishap occurred after the jet’s brakes failed. There were no injuries.
