Local News in Brief : Lawyer Charged With Theft Is Suspended

Share

An Agoura attorney who pleaded no contest to a grand-theft charge last summer has been temporarily suspended from practicing law by the California State Bar and could face further penalties when a Bar committee completes a review of his case.

Cary Alan Rosen, 44, admitted in Los Angeles Municipal Court last June that he stole more than $70,000 from two clients by selling an apartment building they owned without their knowledge. Rosen, who practiced law in Woodland Hills, admitted forging his clients’ names to make the sale.

Tod Martin, the spokesman, said the Supreme Court approved Rosen’s temporary suspension Oct. 3. A committee will hold a hearing, as yet unscheduled, to consider other punitive measures against Rosen, Martin said.
