Woman, 23, Critically Hurt in Collision
A Glendale woman was critically injured early Saturday when her car was struck by another vehicle in a Mission Hills intersection.
Karen Griffith, 23, was traveling eastbound on Nordhoff Street at Haskell Avenue at 7:35 a.m. when her vehicle was hit by a car driven by Michael Brae, 26, of Sylmar, said Los Angeles Police Officer Bill Mulvihill. Brae reportedly ran a red light, Mulvihill said.
Griffith, who was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, suffered a concussion, fractured ribs, a fractured pelvis and a collapsed right lung, police said.
Brae was not hospitalized. Police said no charges were filed, but that the accident was being investigated.
