Walt Disney Co. confirmed that it will acquire 50% of Metrocolor Laboratories from Lorimar Telepictures Corp., an entertainment concern that has been selling off assets to reduce debt. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Lorimar had an agreement in 1986 to sell Metrocolor, one of the world’s largest film processing operations, for more than $60 million, but it was blocked by the Justice Department.
