“Elvis, An American Musical,” a multimedia show highlighting Elvis Presley’s life and musical contributions, will open July 1 at the Las Vegas Hilton prior to a national run and a Broadway opening. The production will include more than an hour of clips from several of Presley’s films and documentary footage from his life. Recording producer Phil Ramone will act as musical supervisor. Several performers will be used to portray Presley at various times of his life, but they won’t be cast until January. Presley performed more than 600 times at the Hilton from 1969 to 1977.
