Colleagues of Kathleen Mika at the University of Southern California are suggesting that the Rose Bowl game this year be dedicated to the assistant alumni director who died in the crash of PSA Flight 1771.
Mika, 25, of Arcadia, was busy helping plan a pep rally to coincide with the Rose Bowl festivities, so missed her scheduled flight to San Francisco, and instead took the ill-fated plane.
“She was a special individual who filled lots of shoes,” said her boss, Carlos Galindo. Mika was a USC varsity swimmer from 1980 through 1983.
