Local News in Brief : Overheated Machine Sparks Fire at School

A plastic-laminating machine overheated and started a fire Saturday at a Canoga Park parochial school, causing about $100,000 damage to a bungalow, fire officials said. There were no injuries.
The fire erupted at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran School at 5:36 a.m. and took firefighters 18 minutes to put out, officials said.
