Cypress City Council on Monday is expected to address cleanup of the site of a Texaco gasoline storage facility where low levels of toxic petroleum waste have been discovered in wells. The problem surfaced in an environmental impact report prepared for Cypress Homes Inc., which has proposed a large housing project on the 144-acre site. The council is expected to vote on the report and on Texaco’s preliminary cleanup plans, which provide for the removal of 40,000 tons of contaminated soil at the Moody Street site.
