Well, it was just a matter of time. Lee Blessing’s “A Walk in the Woods,” the La Jolla Playhouse smash directed by Des McAnuff at the Mandell Weiss Center for the Performing Arts, has finally moved from being vaguely Broadway-bound to becoming most definitely produced by Lucille Lortel at the Booth Theater on Broadway.

- In “The Price Is Right” department: the Old Globe Theatre is offering a limited number of $7 tickets for seniors 60 and older to the 2 p.m. Dec. 19 and 26 performances of “Holiday” on the main stage. It’s half the regular senior citizen price for Old Globe matinees, and $10 less than the cost for non-seniors.

- After 20 years on the board of directors and 10 years as president, Amy C. Krulak wore a smile as she stepped down as president of the San Diego Civic Light Opera Assn./Starlight at the organization’s annual meeting Thursday.

The eyes didn’t start to water until she was surprised by the announcement that Starlight would salute her with a dinner at the Hotel Marriott, Feb. 11. Larry C. Braidic of Rancho Bernardo, a senior vice president and manager of Great American’s internal consulting department, is the new president.

- More changes for Starlight: After 40 years, the outdoor theater in Balboa Park is switching from an 8:30 to an 8 p.m. curtain, which turns out to be not as simple a procedure as changing the times on the tickets.

Co-directors Don and Bonnie Ward are planning to deal with the problem of adjusting lighting in a still bright sky by starting the season a few weeks later than last year’s with shows that can start with bright scenes: “Showboat,” June 30-July 10, “Grease,” July 21-31 and “Anything Goes,” Aug. 11-21. By the time “Fiddler on the Roof” rolls around Sept. 1-11, they trust the sky will be dark enough at 8 to play with.

The earlier curtain time has been much requested by patrons who want to get out of the park earlier, said the Wards. It also fits in well with another first, their plan to include indoor shows--which usually have 8 p.m. curtains--as part of their regular subscription series. The first one for next season is “42nd Street” at the Civic Theatre Oct. 20-30.

- Public relations directors Liz Linderman of the San Diego Repertory Theatre and Bill Eaton of the Old Globe Theatre did a little jig together at San Diego Public Relations Club Christmas party last Monday. It seems that in a drawing for free theater tickets, Linderman won passes to the Old Globe’s “Holiday.” Eaton, standing right behind her, then won passes to the Rep’s “A Christmas Carol.”

- And in case you thought you heard last Christmas story: Local Christian Youth Theater students cut it as angels, as seven were selected to perform the nationally distributed recording of “Arch, the Angel” for Word Music Inc. of Waco, Tex.

The tape, now available at religious bookstores throughout San Diego County and in all parts of the United States, is about a career guardian angel who is dismayed to discover he’s been assigned to a special task force to spread the joy of Christmas.

The show can also be seen live, with a newly trained cast culled from fall Christian Youth Theatre classes. It’s free of charge at the following times and locations: Cornerstone Bible Church in San Diego, Dec. 20 at 10:15 a.m.; Granite Hills Christian Church in El Cajon, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.; El Cajon Wesleyan Church, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.; College Avenue Baptist Church , Dec. 27 at 9 a.m.; Church of Latter Day Saints, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. and Del Cerro Baptist Church in La Mesa, Jan. 8 at a time to be announced.

- The Old Globe Theatre will be dark Dec. 24, 25 and 31. The Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve performances of “The Boiler Room” and “Holiday” will be performed at 8 p.m. on Mondays--Dec. 21 and 28.
