Club Project to Open Next Fall

Share

Marbella, a proposed 327-acre country club and residential community in San Juan Capistrano, is scheduled to open in the fall of 1988. Its eventual build-out value is anticipated to be more than $100 million.

Fairway Land Co., the Laguna Niguel-based developer, has been granted permission by the California Department of Corporations to begin offering memberships to qualified purchasers. The firm has also entered into joint venture with a corporate affiliate of Berg & Berg Developers of Cupertino to form the Marbella Development Co.

Located at the base of the Saddleback Mountains, Marbella will become a prototype for future country club communities for California and the West by the Fairway Land Co. Its residential community will include 215 custom home sites and 132 golf villas near the clubhouse.

The 18-hole championship golf course will be the first California course by the design team of Jay Moorish and PGA veteran Tom Weiskopf, a member of Marbella’s advisory board.
