Anthony Andrews will play King Edward VIII and Jane Seymour will portray the woman who lures him from the throne in a new movie about the famous love affair between the English monarch and Wallis Simpson. “The Woman He Loved” will be shown on CBS. It’s being filmed in England and France.

Ann Jillian’s autobiographical film has been given a Jan. 4 telecast date by NBC. “The Ann Jillian Story” stars its subject and features Tony Lo Bianco as her husband and Viveca Lindfors as her mother. The story follows her marriage and subsequent battle against breast cancer.

Dick Van Dyke and son Barry Van Dyke will star in a series for CBS as--what else?--father and son. Tentatively called “Encore,” the show already has received a 13-week commitment from the network, for broadcast next season. It’s being produced by Grant Tinker’s production company, GTG Entertainment.

Rick Rossovich, Steve Eckholdt and Daphne Ashbrook have the lead roles in “Fassst Forward,” a “Disney Sunday Movie” about a 14-year-old boy who uses a friend’s special growth-acceleration machine to turn into an adult. The film, due for broadcast on ABC in March, will feature guest appearances by Alan Thicke, Harry Morgan, Dick Van Patten and Loretta Swit.

Bob Goen, a former sports director and anchor at KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, will make the jump to national TV as host of CBS’ new game show “Blackout.” Debuting Jan. 4, the game features a “Wheel of Fortune” type puzzle in which contestants try to fill in the missing words in a pun.

Heather Thomas, formerly of “The Fall Guy,” will be seen on NBC next year in a new adventure about “The Dirty Dozen.” She’ll be one of the hard-core soldiers involved in an operation against the Nazis. Also starring are Telly Savalas, Ernest Borgnine, Erik Estrada, Jeff Conaway, John Matuszak, Hunt Bloch, Alex Cord, Ernie Hudson and Ray Mancini.
