Irving Allen, Oscar-Winning Producer and Director
Irving Allen, 82, a producer and director for several studios in the 1940s and winner of two Oscars; for the educational short subject “Forty Boys and a Song” in 1942 and “Climbing the Matterhorn” in 1947. His other credits include “The Man on the Eiffel Tower,” “Safari,” “Killers of Kilimanjaro” and “Genghis Khan.” He also made several of the Matt Helm films starring Dean Martin. In Encino on Thursday.
