Santa Monica : Planning Director Named
Paul Berlant, a former Ventura city planner, was named planning director last week. He will replace Ann Siracusa, who resigned last April.
Berlant spent five years as community development director for Ventura before returning to the private sector six months ago, according to Peggy Curran, spokeswoman for the Community and Economic Development Department.
The 39-year-old planner was selected for the $62,500 position after months of a nationwide search, Curran said. Berlant will assume the post on Jan. 25.
