Green Leads Rhode Island to 101-90 Victory Over USIU
Forward Kenny Green came off the bench to score 22 points and get 9 rebounds to lead the University of Rhode Island to a 101-90 victory over United States International University Saturday night in a nonconference men’s basketball game at Golden Hall.
The loss ended USIU’s two-game winning streak.
USIU (4-8) took a 58-57 lead with 14:47 remaining, but Rhode Island scored the next seven points to take the lead for good.
Rhode Island’s only loss in eight games is to No. 6 Temple.
John Evans had 22 points for Rhode Island. Tom Garrick scored 21 and Carlton Owens added 15.
Rade Milutinovic had 22 points and 11 rebounds for USIU.
