Unidentified Lotto Purchaser in Berkeley Wins $16 Million
Someone who bought a “Lotto 6/49” ticket at a Berkeley 7-Eleven store was $16 million richer Sunday, a California Lottery spokesman said in Sacramento.
The unidentified Lotto player correctly guessed all six numbers drawn by machine Saturday night to win a jackpot worth $16,745,612, lottery spokesman John Schade said.
A total of $21,185,626 was awarded from the Saturday Lotto drawing, Schade said.
Six people who picked five of the numbers drawn plus the bonus number will each get $242,185.
The 416 people who selected five correct numbers will pocket $1,799 each, while 19,312 people who chose four correct numbers will get $35, and 312,520 people will get paid $5 for picking three correct numbers.
Lottery officials predicted a Wednesday night jackpot of $3 million.

Jackpot Lotto winners are selected each Saturday and Wednesday night. Ticket holders are eligible for a prize that varies according to the amount bet. If no one wins, the total is automatically added to the Wednesday night prize.
