Starting cornerback Tony Griffin of Texas failed National Collegiate Athletic Assn. drug tests and has been declared ineligible for the Bluebonnet Bowl game Thursday night in Houston, Longhorn Coach David McWilliams announced.
Griffin, who earlier said he did not want to play in the New Year’s Eve game against Pittsburgh, was the only Longhorn who did not pass the tests, McWilliams said.
