Baldwin Park : Longer Poll Hours OKd
The City Council has approved granting voters an additional hour to cast ballots in city elections.
At a meeting early last month, the council was presented with 160 signatures on a petition from residents asking for the extra hour to vote. A significant number of voters have been turned away from the polls at the 7 p.m. deadline, said Herschel Keyser, who presented the petition to the council.
Starting with an election on April 12, the city’s 15 polling booths will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
