Tim Brown, Notre Dame’s Heisman Trophy winning receiver, said he avoided injury in an automobile wreck in Dallas Tuesday night by turning the steering wheel just before another car ran a red light and slammed into his.
“It’s a lucky thing I was looking when I was,” said Brown, a Dallas native whose team will play Texas A&M; Friday in the Cotton Bowl. “Because if I hadn’t, that would have been it--at least for this week.”
No one was injured in the accident, which occurred shortly after Brown had left Reunion Arena, where he had been watching a Dallas Maverick basketball game.
On the field, Irish Coach Lou Holtz said he planned to start senior Terry Andrysiak at quarterback--his first appearance since breaking a collarbone on Oct. 10.
