San Diego
More than $160,000 in damage was caused by a fire that swept through the second floor of a duplex in the 3600 block of 4th Avenue in Hillcrest, the San Diego Fire Department reported.
The fire was reported about 1 a.m. Saturday, and it took 30 firefighters to put it out, department spokesman Larry Cook said.
Three people inside the unit escaped unharmed. Metro Arson Strike Team investigators said the fire appeared to have been deliberately set in a pile of rubbish just outside the building.
