El Toro : Woman Listed in Serious Condition After Accident
A Santa Ana woman injured in a Thursday traffic accident was listed in serious condition in a Mission Viejo hospital Friday, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Irene Schramm, 34, was alone in her car and not wearing a seat belt when it was hit broadside, ejecting her from the vehicle, the spokesman said. The accident occurred at 9:45 a.m. as Schramm tried to make a left turn off eastbound El Toro Road onto Ridgeline Road in El Toro, he said.
Schramm suffered major internal injuries and was taken by helicopter to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.
The other car was driven by Linda Susan Christian, 27, of Santa Ana. Christian struck her head on the steering wheel but was not hospitalized, the spokesman said.
No charges had been filed in the case, which is under investigation, he said.
