Local News in Brief : Rapes May Be Related

Share

Six older women have been raped recently in Los Angeles and the southeast area of the county in attacks that law enforcement officials say may be related. Two of the rapes occurred earlier this month in Huntington Park and southwest Los Angeles, two others in early December in southwest Los Angeles and two in November in South Gate and the unincorporated area of Walnut Park. The victims range in age from 56 to 88 and at least three of them lived alone, officials said Tuesday.

No one has been arrested in connection with any of the incidents, officials said. Common links in the cases include the ages of the victims, the fact they were attacked at home and that the victims were choked or beaten, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective T.A. Robinson said.
