Temple City : Acupressure Studio Ban

Share

The City Council has extended until February, 1989, a moratorium on acupressure studios while the city works on an ordinance to regulate them.

The new law is expected to include restrictions on location and to say whether areas will be zoned for them or whether conditional use permits will be required, said associate planner David Saldana. The city has not resolved the question of whether the studios will be considered adult businesses, which would entail more stringent restrictions.

The city has two acupressure studios in a commercially zoned area on Lower Azusa Road that will not be affected by the new ordinance. Saldana said there are no applications pending for additional studios.
