A Los Angeles man was arrested in Burbank Friday morning after he fired shots at two California Highway Patrol officers, police said.

Jason T. Kindle, 19, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of a police officer and was being held at the Burbank City Jail, said Lt. Art Moody of the Burbank Police Department. No one was injured in the incident.

Moody said the officers attempted to stop Kindle on the Golden State Freeway at 1:37 a.m., but he sped away. He was apprehended in an alley near Keystone Street and Magnolia Boulevard after he smashed into a parked car and attempted to flee on foot.

Kindle fired at the officers two or three times with a .22-caliber semi-automatic gun as they were chasing him along the surface streets, Moody said. The CHP officers did not return the gunfire, he said.

The names of the highway patrol officers were not released.
