Local News in Brief : Sun Valley Man Killed; Neighbor Arrested
A Sun Valley man died Monday after being stabbed as he stood in the driveway of his home, Los Angeles police said.
Martin Pelayo, 23, died at Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale about four hours after the 1:30 a.m. attack in the 10200 block of Tujunga Avenue, police said.
Police said Jaime Alvarez Marquez was taken into custody by officers who answered the emergency call. Marquez, 20, who lives near Pelayo’s home, was arrested on suspicion of murder and was being held without bail in the LAPD’s Foothill Station Jail.
Police said the two men had argued, for an unknown reason, early Monday. They parted, but Marquez returned to Pelayo’s home, and the stabbing resulted, police said.
