- Local radio stations are gearing up for the Super Bowl by offering a plethora of pregame broadcasts. Adult-contemporary station KFMB-AM (760), the only station in town to carry the Big Game itself--Sunday, starting at 3 p.m.--has the most in store.

Each weekday morning from 6 to 10, Mac Hudson and Joe Bauer are broadcasting live from the La Jolla Marriott, where the Denver Broncos are staying; from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Clark Anthony and Geni Cavitt are at the San Diego Marriott on the Embarcadero, official National Football League headquarters; and from 3 to 7 p.m., Mark Larson and Cliff Albert are at the Hyatt Islandia on Mission Bay, home base for the Washington Redskins.

Throughout the week, Dan Fouts of the San Diego Chargers and his former teammate Rolf Benirschke will give out special reports on Super Week activities; on Friday, Larson will broadcast live from the citywide Super Bowl party on the Broadway Pier, starting at 3 p.m.

Live Super Bowl coverage begins at 8 a.m. from the stadium parking lot on Sunday and then moves inside for the game at 3 p.m.

News/talk station KSDO-AM (1130) will air a one-hour Super Bowl special, hosted by sports director Ron Reina, at 9 a.m. Saturday.

And at oldies station XTRA-AM (69 XTRA Gold), Lee Hamilton’s 6-9 p.m. talk show is broadcasting live each weekday from NFL headquarters at the San Diego Marriott; immediately after the Super Bowl, he’ll be back on the air for several more hours.
