La Mirada : 4 Seek 2 Open Council Seats
Incumbent Dave Peters is among four candidates running for La Mirada’s two City Council positions. Peters, a 45-year-old college teacher, is seeking his fourth term.
Mayor Ben Ashley, a councilman since 1980, decided that two terms is enough, and is not running again. Former Councilman Ken Jones, the 55-year-old owner of a manufacturing firm, hopes to return to the council.
Planning Commissioner Bob Chotiner, 47, a clothing salesman, is running for the council for the first time, as is Vern Stewart, 54, a semi-retired construction contractor.
