Local News in Brief : Anaheim : $400,000 Fire Destroys Golf Cart Manufacturer
A fire of unknown origin destroyed a plant for manufacturing golf carts Wednesday night, causing $400,000 in damage but no injuries, officials said.
Anaheim Fire Department investigators were searching through the charred Karrior Manufacturing plant in the 1300 block of North Tustin Avenue to determine the cause of the blaze, department officials said Thursday.
The fire was reported at 9:48 p.m. by an employee of California Auto Dealers Exchange across the street from the plant. The plant was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, a fire dispatcher said.
It took the 45 firefighters about an hour to control the fire, which caused $200,000 in damage to the building and another $200,000 damage to the building’s contents.
