Facilities: Surfing is allowed at the north end of the beach. The day-use area offers picnic areas with grills and tables, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. Fire rings are provided on the beach. General campsites have stoves and cupboards, tables and water. Trailer campsites have water, electrical and sewer hookups. Each campground has hot showers, restrooms and laundry tubs. There is a group campground for 50 people.

Description: This 100-acre state beach was established in 1931 on a blufftop above a sandy beach. It attracts crowds all year; its warm waters attract surfers, body surfers, swimmers and skin divers. The blufftop area is landscaped with exotics, but the bluffs support native coastal sage scrub plants. The area is frequented by a variety of animal life, including California sea lions that haul out on the San Mateo Rocks offshore.

Fees: Day use is $4 per vehicle. Camping is $12 per night, $16 for sites with hookups.
