The Los Angeles Police Department has released a composite of a man suspected of breaking into several homes in the El Sereno area and molesting six sleeping children.

Detective Marshall White said the suspect has broken into at least four homes during late-night hours, fondled children in their bedrooms and then fled after a child’s screams awakened a parent.

The first incident took place in early January and the most recent incident occurred Feb. 11.

“He has not physically or sexually injured any of the kids,” White said. “His mission appears to be touching them, waking them up and then running away once they scream.”

White said the suspect has operated in a residential area east of Eastern Avenue and south of Huntington Drive. He is described as a male Latino, 17 to 22 years of age, 5-feet-4 to 5-feet-7-inches tall, thin build, clean shaven and wearing a lightweight jacket.

Residents with any information are asked to contact Detectives Norm Bonneau or Marshall White at Hollenbeck Police Station at (213) 485-3141 or (213) 485-2942.
