City Design to Be Topic of Conference
Los Angeles Councilman Michael Woo, who is also a professional city planner, will be among the speakers Thursday at a conference entitled “Designing Our Cities Part Two: Reconciling Design and Democracy.”
Hosted by the City of West Hollywood, the session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood. It is sponsored by a group of planning- and design-related firms led by the SWA Group.
Other speakers include Michael Pittas, former New York City planning director; Mark Hinshaw, Bellvue, Wash. city planner; landscape architects Doug and Regula Campbell; Robert Harris, USC’s dean of architecture, and Richard Weinstein, dean of architecture and urban planning at UCLA.
