A dance at the National Guard Armory in Burbank was disrupted when a shot was fired into the building, authorities said Sunday.

There were no injuries in the Saturday night shooting, but four men were arrested in what police said may be a gang-related incident.

Luis Ibarra, 18; Apolonio Esparza, 25, and Alfredo Reveles, 23, all of Pacoima, and Benigno Senda, 22, of Van Nuys were in Burbank Jail Sunday. They were arrested on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited building, a felony.

“I think they couldn’t get in and got mad,” Burbank Police Lt. Joe Valento said. “But when you come to a party with a sawed-off shotgun, you might give the impression that you’re looking for trouble.”

Security guards told police that about 11:15 p.m., they heard banging at the front door of the armory at 3800 Valhalla Drive. But by the time the guards got to the door, which was locked, the shot had been fired, Valento said.

The bullet went through a window and lodged in a second-story office, Valento said. The dance was held on the first floor.
