Kings Go Against Edmonton Tonight

Share

The Kings, whose 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Canucks Sunday night was accomplished with less than a maximum effort, will meet a more formidable opponent tonight when they play the Edmonton Oilers.

The defending Stanley Cup champions are chasing the Calgary Flames in the battle for the Smythe Division championship, which the Oilers have won the last six seasons.

Edmonton’s Wayne Gretzky, who returned to the lineup Sunday night after missing three games last week with an eye injury, needs one assist to pass Gordie Howe and move into first place on the all-time list.

The Kings, whose shutout Sunday night was their second in four games and third in a month, are 2-3-1 against the Oilers this season, including a 7-2 victory in their last meeting Feb. 2.
