Beverly Hills : Bid for Campaign Limit Fails
The Beverly Hills League of Women Voters said its effort to get all the City Council candidates to agree to a $65,000 campaign spending limit has failed. A spokeswoman for the league said all the candidates would not agree to the conditions of the agreement, so the effort was abandoned.
Earlier this year, all candidates for the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education agreed to limit campaign spending to $40,000. The league spokeswoman said all the candidates spent less than $40,000.
