Local News in Brief : Coliseum Pact to Be Public

Share

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission has voted to make public a proposed private management contract for the Coliseum and Sports Arena one week before holding a public hearing on the contract and voting on whether to ratify it.

The action came in response to suggestions from some members that the commission would otherwise be subject to criticism that it was trying to railroad a contract past critics without giving them a reasonable chance to know what was in it.

County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, the commission’s president, said he expects a final form of the proposed contract with a business partnership of MCA Inc.’s Music Entertainment Group and Spectacor Management to be ready in about two weeks. However, others suggested it may be a month away.
