Local News in Brief : South County : Victim in Motorcycle Crash Is Identified
A motorcyclist killed when he crashed on Ortega Highway near the Riverside County line was identified Thursday as a 32-year-old Costa Mesa man, the California Highway Patrol said.
The victim, Kapshusi Toki, was riding his cycle west on Ortega Highway about 2 1/2 miles west of the Riverside County line about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, a CHP spokesman said.
A witness told the CHP that Toki was not able to negotiate a sharp curve, causing his cycle to run off the road and hit an embankment.
Toki, who suffered massive internal injuries, was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo where he died, a CHP spokesman said.
