A San Diego man wanted on numerous warrants was arrested Sunday morning after a high-speed chase that ended when a California Highway Patrol officer rammed his vehicle into the suspect’s car.

The chase began about 10:45 a.m. when San Diego County deputy sheriffs tried to arrest Brent Balderree, 25, wanted in connection with weapons charges and on other warrants, at a Spring Valley self-storage business, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Over the next half hour, Balderree evaded deputies in a chase through Spring Valley, La Mesa and San Diego. The chase ended in San Carlos, near Jackson and Golfcrest drives, when a CHP patrolman rammed his car into Balderree’s pickup truck after the suspect had begun driving the wrong way on Jackson, the spokeswoman said.
