A dissident shareholder group from New Jersey has succeeded in gaining control of Computer Memories’ board. The group, led by investor Paul Koether of Far Hills, N.J., is expected to gain three of five board seats next month under an agreement disclosed by the Chatsworth company. Computer Memories, a former computer equipment maker with $25 million cash gained from selling virtually all of its assets, earlier tried to merge with entertainment companies Hemdale Film of Hollywood and DIC in Burbank. Both agreements were scrapped.
