A San Pedro teen-ager who police say imitated “Freddy Krueger,” the disfigured villain in “Nightmare on Elm Street” movies, has been charged with murder and robbery in connection with a string of violent crimes.

Angel Regino, 18, who is being held without bail, was ordered back to Municipal Court on March 28 for arraignment on one count of murder, three counts of robbery, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of attempted robbery.

Police say Regino, who is accused of committing the crimes during a six-week span in January and February, told his victims they would never forget him because he was another Freddy Krueger. He also wore a trench coat and fedora, and placed a blue bandanna over his face, which was similar to the way the movie villain dressed.

Regino allegedly shot Johnny Healy, 49, to death as Healy was sleeping is his truck, then tried to shoot a passer-by who found Healy and attempted to summon police.
