Liss Company Recipient of Design Award
Liss Engineering Inc. of Tustin has received the 1987 Orange County Section Illuminating Engineering Society award for excellence in lighting design.
The winning project was part of the new $8-million Holiday Spa Club in Hollywood which reflected Liss’ innovative use of neon and high efficiency lighting in creating an Art Deco ambience.
Incandescent lighting represented less than 10% of the illumination, said Sheldon Liss, principal of the firm. The building housing the health club underwent extensive renovation; it was originally built in 1938 as the Hollywood Boxing Arena.
