Local News in Brief : Hikers Find Body in National Forest
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found by hikers Sunday near Little Tujunga Road in the Angeles National Forest north of Lakeview Terrace, authorities said.
The body was discovered about 2:30 p.m. by hikers who had left the road and walked about 20 yards into the mountainous territory, Deputy Roxanna Schuchman said. The area is about six miles north of the Foothill Freeway.
Schuchman said the dead man, aged about 35, had no identification and appeared to have had a chest wound, although the cause of death will not be known until an autopsy has been completed.
