Local News in Brief : Woman Missing 2 Weeks
Torrance police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding Elinor Judith Massey, a city Civil Service Commissioner who has been missing for two weeks.
Massey, 43, was last seen on the evening of March 4, when she left her home to buy a pair of shoes at the Mervyn’s department store in Torrance. She had been suffering from depression, police said.
The woman was driving a 1979 blue, wood-paneled Toyota station wagon, license 298 YBN. Massey is white, with short brown hair, is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
Massey, a married mother of two, joined the Torrance Civil Service Commission in 1983 and was reappointed last year. She also was a member of the board for the Torrance chapter of the American Assn. of University Women.
Anyone with information on Massey’s whereabouts should call the Torrance Police Department at 328-3456.
