Becker, Connors and Mayotte Enter

Defending champion Boris Becker of West Germany and Americans Jimmy Connors and Tim Mayotte are among five of the world’s top eight men’s tennis players entered in this year’s Wimbledon warmup tournament at Queens Club.

Also in the field for the $384,000 grass-court tournament are defending Wimbledon champion Pat Cash of Australia, ranked fourth, and third-ranked Stefan Edberg of Sweden.

Tournament officials said they hoped that top-ranked Ivan Lendl of Czechoslovakia and second-ranked Mats Wilander of Sweden also would sign up for the June 6-12 tournament, where record attendence of more than 40,000 fans is expected.
