Local News in Brief : Hope Undergoes Surgery
Comedian Bob Hope underwent surgery Monday for a benign condition of the prostate gland, a spokesman said.
Doctors at USC’s Kenneth Norris Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles who performed the procedure, similar to an operation undergone last year by President Reagan, found no sign of cancer, according to the comedian’s spokesman, Jim Mahoney.
Hope, 84, who entered the hospital Sunday, will probably return to his Toluca Lake home in three days, Mahoney said.
