A verbal agreement has been reached on a title fight between Michael Nunn and Frank Tate, International Boxing Federation middleweight champion.

Both Dan Goossen, Nunn’s manager, and promoter Bob Arum said they hoped that full details could be announced early next week.

There are several possibilities for a date and site for the bout. One would place Tate and Nunn on a June 6 card scheduled for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Another possibility is June 18 at Caesars Tahoe in Stateline, Nev. Or the fight might not be held until mid-July.
