A La Mesa man who advertised in the newspaper as a photographer looking for models was ordered Friday to stand trial on rape charges stemming from an alleged attack on one woman who answered the ad.

Jeffrey Golden, 38, also known as Jeffrey Goldstein, was ordered to appear for arraignment April 11 after a preliminary hearing conducted by San Diego Municipal Court Judge Raymond Edwards.

The advertisement appeared in the San Diego Union and Tribune in January, but was pulled after the alleged victim called the newspaper to complain after Golden’s arrest.

The woman said she was raped at gunpoint in his condominium. She said the gun was pointed at her face, then at the side of her head.

“He covered my mouth and started to strangle me,” she testified.

Golden is charged with rape, rape with a foreign object, forcible oral copulation and assault with a deadly weapon. He has pleaded innocent.

Golden remains free on a previously posted $50,000 bail bond.
