Oil-Well Fire Ends Celebration, 12 Hurt

NESS CITY, Kan. — An oil rig explosion unleashed a “big ball of fire” that injured 12 people, including several women and children, who were celebrating a new well, authorities said.
Ten people remained hospitalized Friday, including two in critical condition with burns, officials said. The cause of the fire and explosion has not been determined.
