An 83-year-old woman fell prey to a relentless--and heartless--thief who snatched her purse in a Granada Hills shopping center. The woman was walking in the parking lot of a Hughes Market on Devonshire Boulevard when the thief attempted to take her purse. When she did not let go, he jumped into his car and drove off while the woman clung stubbornly to the purse strap. Police estimated that the thief dragged the woman about 40 feet and then pulled her under the car, running over her before she let go.
