Local News in Brief : Two Sought in Bank Heist
Culver City police are seeking two masked bandits who escaped with $90,000 in what police and FBI agents said was the largest bank robbery in Southern California this year. The men, both armed and wearing ski masks, entered the California Federal Savings & Loan branch at 6090 Sepulveda Blvd. shortly after it opened at 9 a.m. last Friday, police said.
One bandit opened the bank’s automatic teller machine from the inside and took $95,000, but he dropped $5,000 as the pair fled. A third man who drove a late-model beige van in which all three escaped is also being sought.
