A police SWAT team was called in Tuesday night as officers raided a Southeast San Diego home suspected to be a selling point for methamphetamine.

The raid, resulting in eight arrests, climaxed a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department investigation dating back several months. Two 12-gauge shotguns and four rifles were found at the home in the 400 block of Cuyamaca Avenue, police spokesman Dave Cohen said.

Cohen said half an ounce of a powder believed to be methamphetamine and half a gallon of what is believed to be methamphetamine in liquid form were also found in the house, Cohen said.

The SWAT team was called because investigators expected the occupants to be heavily armed.

Cohen said no shots were fired, except for tear gas, and there were no injuries. The entire operation was over in less than 15 minutes, he said.

Booked on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and possession for sale were Leah Hall, 23, and James Dickey, 39, who live at the house, Cohen said.

Booked on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine were Margaret Paglia, 28, and Randy Miles, who also live at the house; Frederick Malek, 33, of Ramona; Constantine Rores, 39, of Chula Vista, and Ian Manle, 33, of Julian.

Lorraine Malek, 21, of Ramona was booked on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale, Cohen said.
